Wayne Chappell – Director
Since completing a Performance & Popular Music course in Manchester in the late 1990s, Wayne has immersed himself in working in the live music industry. Gaining experience as a touring Backline Technician with legendary artists such as Dionne Warwick, James Brown & Chuck Berry, Wayne went on to establish Big Fish Rentals Ltd in 2006.
Since then he has continued to tour extensively with some of Manchester’s finest artists; Elbow; Doves; Cherry Ghost. And to build the company profile and client base worldwide. He has over 25 years’ experience serving professional musicians on stage, and a huge wealth of knowledge of backline and stage management.
Currently, Wayne can be seen working as the Drum Tech/Stage Manager for Nick Mason and also The Australian Pink Floyd Show.
Dickon Fletcher – Director
After completing a degree in Psychology at Manchester University, in 1995 Dickon set up a rehearsal studios business in central Manchester. Expanding to 5 floors of studios, the client base was broad and included bands such as Elbow, The Fall, Joan Armatrading and Bjork.
A backline/music equipment hire service grew naturally as a business inside the studios. Since 2006, Dickon’s focus has been on building Big Fish Rentals profile, and turnover, as new clients have come to rely on the knowledge and equipment stock built up. Dickon has over 25 years’ experience in the live music industry, helping build a worldwide client base, and broad equipment stock, that caters for all musical genres from Rock to Classical, via Jazz and Pop.
Jordan Cope – Manager
Following a distinction in the Live Sound & Tour Management Diploma at BIMM Manchester, Jordan went on to complete a first class Honours Degree in Music Business in 2017.
Whilst studying, Jordan worked at live events, gaining experience as a technician both on stage and front of house, covering events such as Liverpool Sound City, Bluedot Festival, Glastonbury & Leeds Festival.
Jordan also gained experience as a Backline Tech, and Tour Manager for local bands, working on tours with artists such as Icicle Works, Blossoms & Phoebe Green.
Jordan is already an experienced tech, having worked on events, and playing as a session musician, since his youth. Big Fish Rentals were lucky enough to secure his full time employment from 2019. His responsibilities now span the whole spectrum from maintaining equipment, managing inventory, quoting & booking jobs, liaising with clients and on site tech work. He is able to deal with jobs supplying the full range of events, from a local gig to 15 stages of backline on a festival.
